Following on from the success of the London RESPECT festivals, the TUC is now, for the first time bringing RESPECT to Manchester and the NW to audiences of 20,000, in what will be the final free outdoor festival of the summer.
"Trade Unions have been fighting racism and discrimination in our
workplaces and in our communities. Show your RESPECT for our
rich cultural diversity here in the North West on Saturday 30th August"
Our Manchester festival explores the theme of 'respect' in an entertaining, exciting and thought-provoking way to encourage people to consider the nature of their relationships to themselves, to other people and to the environment.
With 4 diverse music stages, arts/crafts and sports/health activities, food & drink, stalls, exhibitions, a market, and a children's play area there will surely be something to interest everybody.
RESPECT Manchester is brought to you by local events company Ear to the Ground - organisers of the massively popular urban music festival D.percussion.

We are very pleased to present a new show created by Walk
the Plank with words by Lemn Sissay
as the grand finale to the festival.
A fairytale on the immigrant experience, this 25-minute outdoor piece is an exploration of newness, arrival, difference. Poetry, music & video combine with spectacular visual effects, making us reflect on how we react to strangers in our midst.
